Marbella to Commemorate International Women’s Day with a Broad Program
Marbella will commemorate International Women’s Day with a comprehensive program of events. The city council has planned a series of workshops, conferences, and an educational campaign aimed at school children under the theme ‘Together on the path to equality’. The official ceremony will take place on March 8th, as is customary.
Equality Councilor Presents Initiative
Isabel Cintado, the Councilor for Equality, presented the initiative on Friday and thanked various groups for their collaboration. These include the Association of University Women of Marbella (AMUM), the Association of Professional and Business Women of Marbella (AMPREM), and the city’s Network of Entrepreneurs.
Activities Kick Off on March 5th
The calendar of activities will begin on March 5th with the ‘Communication and Female Leadership’ workshop, starting at 10:00 am at the Business Incubator located in Plaza de los Naranjos.
Coeducational Campaign at Adolfo Suárez Congress Palace
From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, a coeducational campaign for prevention and awareness in equality will take place at the Adolfo Suárez Congress Palace. This campaign is aimed at 4th year ESO and 1st year Baccalaureate students.
AMPREM Organizes ‘Women Who Transform’ Lunch-Talk
On the same day, at 1:45 pm at the Santiago restaurant, the ‘Women Who Transform’ lunch-talk organized by AMPREM will be offered.
Traditional Institutional Act on March 8th
The program will continue on March 8th with the traditional institutional act at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia, starting at 11:00 am with the reading of the manifesto by journalist Concha Montes.
Recognition Awards to be Presented
Subsequently, recognition awards will be presented to the educational community of IES Victoria Kent for their commitment to coeducation and the promotion of equality; to the Costa Marbella shopping center of El Corte Inglés, for building an egalitarian society in the workplace; and to several women in the municipality for their professional and personal trajectory.
Information Tables to be Set Up
On March 8th, information tables will also be set up in Plaza de los Naranjos and Plaza de la Iglesia de San Pedro Alcántara to inform about the services and resources of the Municipal Women’s Information Center.
AMUM Organizes Dramatized Conference
At 6:30 pm, the dramatized conference ‘The True Don Juan’, organized by AMUM, will take place at the Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Center, along with the Entrepreneurs’ Network lunch scheduled at 1:00 pm at the El Gamonal restaurant.
Local Coordination and Monitoring Table Against Gender Violence
On March 11th, at 10:00 am at the Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Center, the Local Coordination and Monitoring Table Against Gender Violence will meet.
Workshops and Meetings Scheduled
On March 12th and 13th, at the Business Incubator, the workshops ‘Creating Women’s Networks: Networking’ and ‘Main Procedures with Public Administrations’ will be held. On March 15th, at 10:00 am at the Rosa Verde Cultural Center in San Pedro Alcántara, the meeting of the psychological commission specialized in equality and gender of public institutions in Málaga will take place.
Final Stretch of the Program
The final part of the program will be completed with the ‘How to Negotiate Without Giving Up’ workshop (on March 19th at the Business Incubator, at 10:00 am); a meeting for the families of CEIP Las Albarizas on March 21st; and another on female empowerment, organized by the Association of Neighbors of Plaza de Toros on March 22nd. The final day of the training program for entrepreneurs and businesswomen will be held on April 2nd, starting at 10:00 am at the Marbella Incubator.
