Unveiling of the Poster for Marbella’s Calvary Procession 2024
The Brotherhood of Calvary unveiled the poster for the 2024 Holy Thursday Penitential Station last Friday. The event took place at the Recreational and Cultural Casino of Marbella, where a magazine containing all the information about this brotherhood was also showcased, and the Calvary Awards 2024 were presented. The artwork was created by Javier Puche and features the image of the brotherhood’s Marian titleholder, María Santísima del Calvario.
Artwork Competition and Magazine Presentation
Numerous artworks were submitted to the competition organized by the brotherhood, from which the winner was selected. Attendees also had the opportunity to see the presentation of the annual magazine bulletin published by the brotherhood. The magazine includes information such as a record of activities, a calendar of worship and events, premieres, and updates. The cover of this magazine is the poster announcing the penitential exit.
Changes in the Brotherhood’s Schedule
This year, the Brotherhood will have a change in the schedule of its departure, which will take place at 5:30 pm at the Calvary Hermitage, half an hour earlier than in previous years.
Calvary Awards 2024
The Calvary Awards 2024 were also a highlight of the event held last Friday. The awardees were Clínica Premium (Commerce of the Year), Cristo del Amor (Institution of the Year), Adrián Sánchez (Brother of the Year), Sofía Gómez (Youth Award), and Diego Gómez (Children’s Award).
Upcoming Events of the Brotherhood
The Brotherhood will hold the Solemn Triduum in honor of the Sacred Titleholders at the Parish of the Most Holy Christ of Calvary from March 13 to 15 at 7:30 pm, led by Rafael Rodríguez de Sainz, Parish Priest of the Calvary Church. The imposition of medals and welcome to new brothers will also take place at the Calvary Parish on March 15 at 6:30 pm. The Via Crucis of the transfer of the Sacred Titleholders from the Calvary Parish to the Calvary Hermitage will be on March 15, at 8:15 pm. The blessing of Palms and Olives will take place at the square of the Calvary Hermitage on March 24 at 12:00 pm. The Penitential Station, as always, will be on Holy Thursday, which this year is on March 28, with the departure advanced to 5:30 pm.
