Rafael Escobar, the former coach of San Pedro, has left the team after a period of reflection. The UD San Pedro team has already started planning for the next season. Continuity of Andrés Salas and Departure of Rafael Escobar
After confirming the continuation of Andrés Salas as the head of sports direction, the team announced that coach Rafael Escobar’s contract will not be renewed. San Pedro was unable to celebrate a promotion at the end of this season, a dream they had held onto all year. In the last league match, and after a poor final stretch of competition, the red and blacks missed out on moving up to 3rd RFEF.

However, time does not stand still and the team has already started working towards trying to achieve promotion next season. The first announcement for the next campaign was to confirm the continuation of Andrés Salas as the head of sports direction for the red and black entity. The club stated that they have decided to rely on Salas again for the development and organization of the sports work of the first team of UD San Pedro.
Rafael Escobar’s Tenure Comes to an End
The second decision was the discontinuation of Rafael Escobar as coach. The arrival of the Cordoba coach did not go as expected with only four victories in 12 matches; none away from the Municipal Antonio Naranjo. These numbers left the team without a category promotion and led the red and black entity to not offer him a continuation. However, they wanted to thank Escobar and his technical team for their commitment and dedication to the club during this brief stage.
