Investigation Underway After Another Marbella Shooting
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 21-year-old man was left wounded after a shooting in Marbella, Spain. The victim, a Spanish national, was hit in the knee and pelvis by gunfire. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The Policia Nacional are currently investigating the incident.
Details of the Shooting Incident
The shooting took place in the Los Naranjos urbanization, not far from Puerto Banús. Police were alerted to the scene following a series of gunshots at around 12.15am. Upon arrival, they discovered the wounded man inside a vehicle. Ambulance crews confirmed that he had been hit by two bullets. After stabilizing him, he was transported to the nearby Hospital Costa del Sol.
Series of Similar Incidents
This recent shooting is the latest in a string of similar incidents. The Policia Nacional are also investigating a shooting in a restaurant in March that resulted in no injuries. Another incident last month saw a 20-year-old man shot in the knee. This incident occurred at 1.30am in an establishment in Puerto Banús, leaving the victim in need of knee surgery.
Previous Shooting Involving Swedish Nationals
In February, two Swedish nationals fell victim to a shooting. One suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and arm. Last month, police arrested three people in connection with the incident, including the suspected shooter. According to the Policia Nacional, the shooting was related to a rivalry between two Swedish gangs operating in the area.
