AP-7 Toll Road Ushers in High Season Charges with Easter Traffic

The Easter holiday period is known for bringing an influx of visitors and increased traffic to the Costa del Sol. This year is no different, and with the surge in traffic comes the introduction of high season charges on the AP-7 toll road. The revised tariffs will come into effect from midnight this Thursday and will remain in place until the Sunday after Easter, April 7. The high season charges will then return for the summer months of June, July, August, and September.

2024 High Season Prices Exceed Last Year’s Holiday Tariffs

The high season prices for 2024 are set to be higher than the holiday tariffs charged in the previous year. For instance, the toll for the Guadiaro-Estepona route has been increased from €3.55 to €3.75.

Increased Charges for Estepona-Marbella and Marbella-Malaga Routes

The Estepona-Marbella route will now cost €5.80, up from the previous charge of €5.55. Similarly, the Marbella-Malaga route will now cost €8.60, a rise from the previous €8.15. The full journey from Guardiaro to Malaga will now cost €18.15, up from €17.25.

Low Season Charges on the AP-7 Also See a Rise

It’s not just the high season charges that have seen an increase. The low season charges on the AP-7 toll road have also been revised. The Guadiaro-Estepona route will now cost €2.31, up from €2.20. The Estepona-Marbella route will cost €3.60, up from €3.40. The Marbella-Malaga route will now cost €5.25, up from €5. The full journey from Guardiaro to Malaga will now cost €11.50, up from €10.60.

Automated Toll Booths on the AP-7

No specific reasons have been provided for the increase in toll charges. However, those unfamiliar with the AP-7 will find that all toll booths are now automated. Motorists are required to pay the toll fees into machines before they can continue on to the next stage of their journey.
