Impressive Results for Marbella’s Sala de Armas Fencing Club
Marbella’s Sala de Armas Fencing Club has achieved remarkable success, securing five medals in the second round of the Andalusian Cup held in Jaén. Juande de la Fuente shone brightly, winning gold and silver in the M13 and M15 categories respectively, while Christian Vendrell triumphed in the M11 category. Additionally, Francisca Román and Isabel Vicioso each earned a bronze medal in the veterans’ category. Despite being active for only a year, the Sala de Armas Fencing Club has already made its mark in various competitions.
Participation in the Andalusian Cup
The Marbella club participated in the second round of the Andalusian Cup, organized by the Andalusian Fencing Federation. The Sala de Armas Fencing Club attended the event in Jaén with a team of six fencers, who collectively won a total of five medals.
Outstanding Performances by Club Members
Among all the members of the Marbella club, young Juande de la Fuente stood out. He clinched the gold medal in the M13 category after a thrilling final against Alberto García from Granada. De la Fuente also secured a silver medal in the M15 category by defeating Bryan Kelly. In the M11 Sword category, Christian Vendrell won the gold medal after an impeccable tournament in which he did not lose a single bout.
Veteran Fencers Also Shine
Veteran fencers Francisca Román and Isabel Vicioso also contributed to the Marbella team’s medal tally, each winning a bronze medal in the Sword category. The rest of the Marbella team, comprising Pedro de la Fuente and Julio Abad, also competed at a high level, despite not winning any medals.
