The plan includes 19 watchtowers, 17 first aid modules, and a team of over 50 lifeguards, precisely 55, who will be on duty daily from June 1 to October 15.
Lifeguard Services Begin During Easter Week
The lifeguard service begins during Easter week and continues on weekends until June, when it becomes a daily service. The team consists of 40 lifeguards during the low season, working from 12:00 to 18:00 hours. From June, the team will expand to 55 members who will be operational from 11:30 to 19:30 hours.
Maritime and Land Rescue Resources
Maritime rescue resources will include three rescue jet skis and a boat with a skipper and a lifeguard, based in San Pedro Alcántara, Bajadilla, and Real de Zaragoza. Land resources will consist of three ambulances with basic life support nursing based in San Pedro Alcántara, Bajadilla, and Real de Zaragoza, a versatile 4×4 quick response and rescue vehicle, and a car.
Local Police and Civil Protection Involvement
The Local Police will patrol the 27 kilometers of coastline with three daily patrols, one in plain clothes and two in uniform, four quad-type vehicles, and four drones. Civil Protection will allocate about ten volunteers to this plan, divided into two shifts based at La Bajadilla alongside the rescue service. They will have two jet skis, a boat, two quads, a buggy, two motorcycles, three 4×4 all-terrain vehicles, and two vans as material resources.
Additional Support from Firefighters
The service will also be equipped with a boat and two jet skis from the Firefighters, who will provide a standby guard from their Underwater Unit for surface work.
