Marbella RC Rugby 7 Team Travels to Marrakech for Tournament
The Marbella Rugby Club’s 7-a-side team journeyed to Marrakech to participate in the “Andalussia Marrakech” rugby 7’s tournament. Despite the event featuring fewer teams than expected, the Marbella squad put on an impressive display, winning two out of the three matches they played.
Marbella RC’s Weekend in Morocco
Last weekend, the Marbella Rugby Club travelled to Morocco to compete in the “Andalussia Marrakech” rugby 7’s tournament. Although more clubs were initially expected to participate, only four were able to compete: Argan, Association Jeunesse Rugby Marrakech, ARMR, and Marbella RC.
Marbella RC’s Dominant Performance
In an energetic and determined first match, the Marbella team secured a notable victory with a final score of 24-7 against ARMR. Tries from Saúl and Santi, backed by conversions from Nahuel and Santi, ensured the initial triumph. In the second match, better adapted to the dynamics of rugby 7, Marbella RC demonstrated their dominance on the field by defeating Marrakech Argan Rugby with an impressive score of 48-0. Tries from Saúl, Mateo, and Santi, supported by conversions from Nahuel and Santi, consolidated the victory.
Bravery and Commitment Despite Fatigue and Injuries
Despite fatigue and some injuries, the Marbella players showed their bravery and commitment in the third match against Jeunesse Rugby, although they ultimately lost with a score of 10-21. The club has highlighted the warm welcome and hospitality of the Moroccan club.

The Marbella Rugby Club’s expedition team consisted of players Mateo, Edu, Amin, Nahuel, Santi, Bradley, Saúl Bussinesman, Nico, and Pablo, along with the staff made up of Álvaro (assistant coach), Nacho (coach), Popeye (chiropractor), and Chema (manager).
