Equality Marks the Progress of the Season in 2nd RFEF

The season in the 2nd RFEF is marked by equality. With eight rounds left to conclude the regular season, Marbella FC and Sevilla Atlético are the only teams from Group IV that have consistently been in the playoff positions for promotion.

Top Five Teams in the League

Throughout the 26 rounds of the competition, Marbella FC and Sevilla Atlético have remained in the top tier of the league. They are followed by Águilas (24 rounds), Yeclano (17 rounds), and Betis Deportivo (12 rounds). These five clubs currently occupy the top five positions in the league.

Final Stretch of the Season in 2nd RFEF

The season is entering its final stretch in the 2nd RFEF. With only eight rounds left to conclude the league, the fight to occupy one of the top five positions is incredibly exciting. Almost any team in the group, including most of those in relegation positions, still have mathematical chances of entering the playoff positions, making the next two months of competition extremely competitive.

Sevilla Atlético and Marbella FC Leading the Way

Only two teams, Sevilla Atlético and Marbella FC, have known what it’s like to be in the privileged positions since the first round. The powerful Sevilla subsidiary and a newly promoted team like Marbella started the season brilliantly and have maintained the privileged positions throughout the 26 rounds of the championship.

Teams Accompanying the Leaders in Playoff Positions

Interestingly, the three teams currently accompanying them in the playoff positions are the three clubs that have spent the most rounds in the top positions: Águilas FC (24 rounds), Yeclano Deportivo (17 rounds), and Betis Deportivo (12 rounds).

Other Teams in the Top Five

Since the start of the competition, seven other teams have also been in the top five at some point: Estepona (9 rounds), Vélez (5 rounds), UCAM Murcia (3 rounds), Racing Cartagena (2 rounds), and Balompédica Linense, Orihuela, and Antoniano (1 round each).

Remaining Rounds to Decide Everything

With eight rounds left to decide everything, the gap between the 14th placed team, La Unión Atlético with 30 points, and the fifth place, currently held by Águilas FC, is just 11 points. This means everything is still wide open.

Marbella’s Playoff Position at Stake

Marbella will play for its playoff position by opening this series of eight matches against three lower-zone teams: Racing Cartagena, La Unión Atlético, and San Roque. It will then have to contend with three direct rivals: Betis Deportivo, Sevilla Atlético, and Yeclano Deportivo. The season will conclude against a Vélez team that is currently an absolute mystery, and by hosting another direct rival in a potentially decisive match against Águilas.
