Marbella Carnival Revives Group Contest with Local Troupe “La Joya” Taking the Win
The Marbella Carnival has revived its Group Contest this year, which was last held in 2019. The local troupe “La Joya” and the chirigota from Algeciras “No le doy más vueltas que me caliento” emerged as the winners of the night, which also paid tribute to the late carnival enthusiast Juan José Calvente Alcántara. The contest, held between February 13 and 16, is a must-attend event for carnival lovers in Marbella.
Finals Held at Municipal Theatre with Eight Groups Performing
The finals took place on Friday at the municipal theatre, where the eight qualifying groups performed. In addition, the chirigota ‘Igualito que antes’ from CEIP Al Andalus, the winner of the Children’s Contest, also performed. The local quartet “Este año salimos por los pelos” by Isaac Morilla also took to the stage, much to the delight of the audience.
