Marbella’s Salduba Swimming Pool Set for Reopening After €3 Million Investment

The Salduba municipal swimming pool, located within the Antonio Serrano Lima sports complex in Marbella, Costa del Sol, is preparing to reopen its doors. This follows a significant investment of three million euros aimed at renovating and modernizing the facility.

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz Announces 60% Completion of Renovation Work

During a visit to the sports complex on Monday, 15th April, Marbella’s Mayor Ángeles Muñoz revealed that the renovation work is 60% complete. She highlighted that the entire complex is undergoing a transformation to become more modern, functional, and sustainable. A key feature of the renovation is the installation of a glazed roof system, designed to regulate the water temperature by maintaining the interior temperature and preventing the influx of hot and cold air.

Project Co-Funded by Town Hall and European Regional Development Funds

Mayor Muñoz further noted that the project’s budget, which exceeds three million euros, is co-financed by the town hall and the European Regional Development funds (FEDER). Each entity is contributing 50% of the total cost. The mayor also emphasized the sustainability aspect of the project, stating that the installation of photovoltaic panels will make the facility self-sufficient, eliminating the need for external energy to heat the water in the changing rooms and the pool.

Expansion of Pool to Accommodate Marbella Waterpolo Club

The renovation project also includes the expansion of the pool to meet the needs of the Marbella waterpolo club. This will enable the club to host approved competitions locally, eliminating the need for the team to travel to other municipalities.

Improved Facilities for Residents

Mayor Muñoz acknowledged the residents’ demand for an improved pool. She assured that once the facility is reopened, residents will have access to larger and more efficient facilities. She also confirmed that all activities currently being conducted at the Supera by clubs and users will be transferred back to the Salduba swimming pool once the renovation work is completed.
