New Edition of “A Fondo” Roundtable Discussion

The new edition of the roundtable discussion “A Fondo” aired this Monday night on local networks. The show provides information, analysis, and opinions on current events in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara. This week’s topics included delays in necessary infrastructure for the municipality and the new Movistar Plus+ series on organized crime.

Collaborative Audiovisual Project

This audiovisual project was born in 2022 from a collaboration between two television stations, M95TV and 7TV, and the digital platforms Marbella Hoy and Marbella24horas. The goal is to critically and courageously analyze the political, economic, social, and cultural news of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara every Monday, with various participants.

This Week’s Participants

This week’s discussion, moderated by Ignacio Reyes, featured a team of participants including activist Carmen Varo, lawyer José Cosín, columnist José Manuel Beltrán, and journalist Juan Carlos Angulo. The debate can be followed this Monday from 21:00 on 7TV and around 22:30 on M95TV. It will also be available on the Marbella24horas YouTube channel.

Topics of Discussion

The first topic of debate will be the stabilization of the municipality’s beaches, which has encountered a new obstacle delaying its execution. The construction of the so-called breakwaters should be undertaken by the central government, but it has been revealed that a report from the Junta is missing, which has been delayed for eight months.

New Series and Infrastructure Delays

Next on the table will be the recently premiered Movistar Plus+ series “Marbella,” which tackles organized crime. Following this, the construction of the new police station will be discussed, which has returned to the news after recent statements from the government sub-delegate asking the City Council to speed up the urbanization of the land.

Health Center Delays and Overruns

The delay in the new Marbella West health center on Ricardo Soriano Avenue will also be a topic of debate, as well as the cost overruns that the construction is experiencing.

Excessive Overtime Payments

To conclude, there will be a new chapter on the excessive payment of overtime at the Marbella City Council, which the government team has provided some explanations for.
