Marbella is home to the most expensive tourist apartments on the Costa del Sol. Tourist apartments are increasingly becoming the preferred choice for people looking to travel. With Easter week approaching, the specialized portal Holidu has compiled a ranking of prices across Spain. On the Costa del Sol, Marbella is the most expensive location, while Torremolinos is listed as the cheapest.
Travelers Decide on Destinations and Accommodations for Easter Week
With Easter week almost upon us, those looking to take advantage of the holiday for travel have practically decided on their destination and type of accommodation. The portal Holidu, specializing in tourist apartments, has prepared a ranking based on their data on where it is most expensive to travel during this period.
Average Vacation Rental Prices in Spain
The average price of vacation rentals in Spain is set at 141 euros per night, the same as in Andalusia, right on that average. On the Costa del Sol, Marbella appears as the most expensive place with 203 euros per night for a tourist apartment. It is followed by Estepona (166 euros) and Malaga capital (156 euros), the three municipalities that are above the national average.
Cheapest Accommodations on the Costa del Sol
The cheapest accommodation in the area is in Torremolinos (116 euros), Benalmádena (120 euros) and Fuengirola (126 euros). In Mijas, the price is 139 euros. By autonomous communities, the most expensive are the Balearic Islands (220 euros) and Madrid (197 euros), while the cheapest are Murcia (107 euros) and Galicia (109 euros). These are average prices for the dates between March 24 and April 1, according to this study.
Occupancy Rates for Tourist Accommodations
In terms of occupancy of these types of accommodations, the highest on the Costa del Sol is expected in Torremolinos, with 89%. Benalmádena expects 85%, Fuengirola 83% and Malaga capital 82%. In Marbella, the occupancy, according to Holidu, will be 81%, the same as in Mijas, both above Estepona (77%).
