Former US President Barack Obama Checks into Five-Star Spanish Hotel
Barack Obama, the former US President, has checked into the five-star Finca Cortesin hotel on the Costa del Sol. Known for its popularity among rock and football stars, the hotel is a favorite chill-out spot for American rock legends Guns N’Roses. The hotel, located near Estepona in Casares, has seen the likes of Slash and Axl Rose booking €1,000-euro-a-night suites after their European tours.
Finca Cortesin: A Favorite Among Sports Stars
The hotel is not just popular among rock stars. It also boasts a highly-rated golf course, attracting footballers such as Gareth Bale, James Milner, and Jamie Carragher over the years. Obama himself is reportedly taking full advantage of the 18-hole course and the nearby Real Club Valderrama, where a round of golf costs around €400.
Obama Follows in Wife’s Footsteps
Obama’s visit to Andalucia follows that of his wife, Michelle, who visited the region in 2010 with their daughters, staying at the nearby Hotel Padierna. This week, Obama is set to be the keynote speaker at an international forum on innovation and digital transformation in Malaga, the Digital Enterprise Show 2022 (DES), which costs around €1990 to enlist.

The hotel Obama has chosen is known for its grandeur and has hosted guests such as Emilio Botin, the former boss of Santander bank, and Nobel Prize-winning Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa. Finca Cortesin offers top-quality dining experiences, including a Michelin-starred restaurant and two others. It also offers spa treatments, including a caviar-based facial that lasts 80 minutes and costs €250, as well as ‘facelifts without surgery’.
Obama to Speak at Malaga Conference
The former leader of the free world will travel to the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga, where he is due to speak at 11:30am on Tuesday, June 13.
