British Man Granted Bail in Connection with TOWIE Star’s Doorman Death
A British man, identified by the initials HGJ.S, has been granted conditional bail following his arrest in relation to the death of a doorman at a restaurant owned by TOWIE star Elliot Wright. The incident occurred at Olivia’s La Cala in Mijas on Sunday morning. The 32-year-old suspect, who was born in England, reportedly fled the scene around 12.30am after allegedly striking 55-year-old Jose Rafael ‘Pisani’ Prado.
Doorman Dies After Attempting to Break Up Fight
Prado, a father of two, was trying to break up a fight at the restaurant when he was reportedly punched. He fell and hit his head against the corner of a table. Sources indicate that it took an ambulance up to an hour to arrive at the scene. Prado was transported to Malaga’s Regional Hospital, but succumbed to a severe head trauma.
Suspect Arrested at Marbella Address
The alleged assailant managed to flee the scene but was later identified and arrested by the Guardia Civil at an address in Marbella on Tuesday. He appeared before a Fuengirola judge on Wednesday and was released after prosecutors did not object. The suspect had his passport confiscated and was ordered to report to court on the first day of each month.
Investigation for Reckless Homicide and Crime Against Public Health
The man briefly spoke at the hearing when asked a few questions about his personal circumstances by his lawyer. He is currently being investigated for reckless homicide and a crime against public health. This follows the discovery of a small quantity of drugs at his property during his arrest by the Guardia Civil on Tuesday.
Impact on TOWIE Star Elliot Wright’s Business
The incident has had a significant impact on Elliot Wright’s business. The TOWIE star has temporarily closed his Mijas restaurant following the tragic death of his doorman. This comes as another blow to Wright, who had previously vowed to rebuild his restaurant on Spain’s Costa del Sol after it was destroyed by a fire.
