Arrest of Parents in Estepona Over Child Abuse Allegations
In a shocking incident, a couple from Estepona has been taken into custody following allegations of child abuse. The parents, a 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, were arrested after their infant was admitted to a local hospital with a broken leg and other injuries. In a further disturbing development, the baby also tested positive for cocaine.
Charges of Child Abuse
The National Police, in a statement reported by news agency Europa Press, confirmed that the parents are facing charges of child abuse. The baby, who is still breastfeeding and very young, is not in any immediate danger. However, as of Monday, the child was still receiving treatment in a Marbella hospital.
Social Services Notified
The incident came to light on Saturday when the baby was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The local social services have been alerted about the situation. The parents have temporarily lost custody of the child as the investigation continues.
