Italian Gang Leader with Links to Neapolitan Camorra Crime Gang
The gang was led by a 54-year-old Italian man, who reportedly has connections to the notorious Neapolitan Camorra crime gang in his home country. The victim, despite reporting his kidnapping to the Guardia Civil, initially withheld information about being held captive due to a dispute over stolen drugs and cash from the rival gang.
Victim’s Ordeal: Four Days of Captivity and Torture
According to the victim’s account, he was captured by four armed men who inflicted knife wounds on him during his four-day ordeal. He also claimed that he was not provided with any food during his captivity.
Arrests Made in Collaboration with Italy’s Carabinieri
The Guardia Civil arrested a 55-year-old Italian woman in El Campello in April. Following this, they collaborated with Italy’s Carabinieri to track down the gang leader. The leader was apprehended in Valencia on August 1, while two Spanish nationals, aged 31 and 34, were arrested in Marbella and Mijas last month. All three men are currently in custody.
Charges Filed by Orihuela Court
The group has been charged by an Orihuela court for kidnapping, causing injury, and belonging to a criminal organisation. The case continues to unfold as more details come to light.
