Marbella Witnesses Two ‘Ram-Raid’ Robberies in 24 Hours
Marbella, a city known for its luxury and glamour, has recently been shaken by a new wave of crime. In a span of just 24 hours, two ‘ram-raid’ robberies have occurred, causing fear and concern among the residents. The targets were a jewellery store and a mobile phone shop, both located on the same street in San Pedro de Alcantara.
Details of the Brazen Robberies
The most recent attack took place early Sunday morning, around 6.30am. A black Seat car was used to reverse into the shop front window of ‘Joyeria’, a local jewellery store on Calle Pizarro. The thieves quickly filled their bags with goods and fled the scene. Witnesses reported seeing the group escape in a luxury vehicle that was parked nearby.
Police Response and Investigation
The Policia Nacional were immediately alerted to the incident after several locals dialed the emergency 112 number. Despite their swift response, no arrests have been made yet. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
Previous ‘Ram-Raid’ Incident
This incident came just a day after a similar ‘ram-raid’ robbery on a telephone shop located on the same street. At around 3.45am on Saturday, a grey vehicle was used to smash through the front window of the store. Four men then raided the shop and made a quick escape.
Public Reaction and Social Media Buzz
A video of the jewellery raid, showing the aftermath of the crime with the shop window still in disarray as police arrived, was widely shared on social media. The back-to-back incidents have sparked a wave of concern among the residents, leading to increased calls for improved security measures in the city.
