22-Year-Old Glovo Delivery Man Loses Prized Possession
Jeison, a 22-year-old Glovo delivery man, had his most prized possession stolen on Friday, 16 February. The young man had initially started his job with a borrowed bicycle and after many hours of hard work, he managed to save just over 200 euros to buy a better one. However, his joy was short-lived as his new bicycle was stolen outside a restaurant in Marbella where he had gone to pick up an order.
Desperate Plea for Help on Social Media
Following the theft, a distraught Jeison took to social media to share his predicament. He posted on the account Marbella Se Queja, asking for help in locating his stolen bicycle. Jeison had moved to Marbella in August the previous year, leaving his home country Venezuela due to its complex political and economic situation. He had left his parents behind to join his older sister on the Costa del Sol, hoping to find a job.
Marbella Family Touched by Jeison’s Story
Jeison’s Instagram post caught the attention of a family in Marbella. Sara, the mother of two boys, Karim and Cayetano, aged seven and twelve, was moved by Jeison’s story. She and her sons decided to gift Jeison the older son’s bicycle after learning about the theft. Sara explained that her younger son had noticed her emotional reaction to Jeison’s story and asked what was wrong, leading to their decision to help.
Generous Gift Brings Joy and Gratitude
Sara contacted Jeison and arranged to meet him on Saturday in Nueva Andalucía to give him the bicycle. Her son Karim was thrilled to be able to help, eagerly asking his mother if he could be the one to present the bicycle to Jeison. The gesture brought immense joy to Jeison, who expressed his gratitude for the gift, noting that the bicycle was even better than his stolen one.
Teaching the Value of Giving
For Sara, the act of giving was more than just a kind gesture. She emphasized that she has always taught her children the importance of giving without expecting anything in return. This incident served as a practical lesson for her sons, demonstrating the impact of their generosity on others.
