PSOE of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara Honors Women
The socialist groups of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara honored 13 working women from the municipality this Friday. This annual event, held in recognition of International Women’s Day, took place at the Río Verde Institute’s auditorium, filled with the honorees and their families.
Recognizing Women’s Contributions
This year’s edition continued the PSOE’s tradition of paying tribute to anonymous women who have stood out in their private lives, either through their family care or professional work. The event, which was well-attended once again, was held at the Río Verde Institute’s auditorium in Marbella.
Spokesperson’s Gratitude
Socialist spokesperson, Isabel Pérez, thanked the honorees for their “quiet” work that has contributed to a more equal municipality. She added, “Without their constant struggle, the progress of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara would not have been the same, and for this reason, we want to give them visibility.”
Recipients of the Recognition
The women who received this recognition were Manuela Borreguero Carmona, Fuensanta Luque Jiménez, María Jesús Arias Gutiérrez, Josefa Calvellido Sánchez, Ana Pozo Cantos, María Paz Rojas Guerrero, Rosa García Barrios, María del Carmen Parada Chávez, Isabel Pérez Amado, María Aragón Pérez, María del Carmen Martín Bernal, Marieta Rueda Ríos, and Carmen Esteban González. A brief biography was read and a video with their photographs was projected before they received the tribute.
Local Singer Entertains the Crowd
The event was enlivened by the performance of local young singer Yolanda, who performed three songs.
