UD San Pedro Announces New Coach
The red and black entity has announced the incorporation of coach Rafael Escobar, who will take charge of the team until the end of the season with the possibility of renewal if he achieves promotion. The club has opted for a coach with extensive experience following the dismissal of Sánchez Frías.
Rafael Escobar to Lead UD San Pedro
UD San Pedro has reached an agreement with Rafael Escobar to take over the team’s bench until the end of the season, with renewal depending on the achievement of the objective. He is a coach with extensive experience in the Second Division B and Third, as well as in the Gibraltar League, and his task is to achieve the promotion of the red and black team to 3rd RFEF.
Escobar’s Football Career
Born in Cordoba, much of his football career has been linked to the Real Balompédica Linense, the last team he managed and where he had four stages. With this team, he achieved promotion to Second B in the 2010/11 season and played the promotion play-offs to the Second Division in the following campaign.
Escobar’s Previous Coaching Experience
Escobar has also managed historic teams in the Third Division such as Lucena, Serrallo, Pozoblanco, Puerto Real, Arcos, or Los Barrios. In the Gibraltar league, he led the Europa FC for four seasons, finishing in second place three times and being proclaimed champion in the 2019/20 season. With the Gibraltarian team, he has participated in the preliminary phase of the Conference League, the Europa League, and the Champions League.
First Contact with the Team
The new red and black coach will have his first contact with the team next Thursday, directing his first match next Sunday at 4:30 p.m. against Alhaurín de la Torre at the Los Manantiales municipal stadium.
