Marbella City Theatre to Host XVII Sierra Blanca Flamenco Festival

The Marbella City Theatre is set to host the XVII Sierra Blanca Flamenco Festival on Saturday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m. The festival boasts an impressive lineup, with the notable addition of Luis Heredia “El Polaco”, who will be performing his renditions of Manolo Caracol’s songs, accompanied by a piano. Tickets are now on sale.

General Director of Culture Highlights the Festival’s Contributions

Carmen Díaz, the General Director of Culture, presented the event on Tuesday alongside the president of the club, Juan Recio, and singer Pepe Lara. She praised the organizing association’s efforts in promoting flamenco and the high-quality performers participating in each edition.

Lineup for the Upcoming Festival

The festival will feature performances by Rocío Bazán, Luis Heredia ‘El Polaco’, and Pepe Lara, with Chaparro de Málaga, Ismael Rueda, Paco Lara, Pepe El Línea and Niño Jorge (the latter two will open the show) on guitar, and Laura de los Ángeles on piano.

Additional Performances and Activities

The president of Sierra Blanca explained that attendees will also enjoy a dance performance by Fátima Navarro, accompanied by Ángel Tirado on vocals, Fermín Fernández on guitar, and Sara and Amara Navarro on hand clapping. He mentioned that they have been working hard to make flamenco appealing and to include performers from the club and from Málaga in the show. He also announced the presence of Chuste Flores and Manuel Soler, from Campo de Gibraltar, on hand clapping.

Special Performance by ‘El Polaco’

He further indicated that ‘El Polaco’ will be a new addition to this edition, performing Manolo Caracol’s songs, accompanied by a piano.

Collaboration with the City Council

Recio highlighted that among the activities they carry out in collaboration with the City Council is promoting this art form among children, with 600 students visiting their facilities for this purpose this year.

The festival, a staple in the Marbella City Theatre’s autumn schedule, will be presented by Paco Vargas. Tickets, priced at 10 euros, can be purchased in advance at www.mientrada.net or at the theatre box office two hours before the start of the show.
