British Expat Dies in Tragic Motorbike Accident on Costa del Sol
In a tragic turn of events, a beloved British expatriate lost his life in a motorbike accident on the Costa del Sol. The victim, identified as 70-year-old Ray Wyer, was a resident of Manilva. The fatal incident occurred in San Pedro de Alcantara, Marbella last Friday.
Details of the Fatal Collision
Eyewitnesses reported that a van collided with Mr Wyer’s motorbike, causing him to swerve into the opposite lane. Prior to the accident, it is alleged that Wyer and the van driver had a roadside altercation. The collision resulted in Wyer being knocked into the oncoming traffic lane, where he met with a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Van Driver Arrested
Following the incident, the driver of the van was apprehended by the local police in Marbella. The circumstances leading to the accident are currently under investigation.
Funeral Arrangements and Tributes
The funeral service for Mr Wyer is scheduled for Monday at 3.30pm in Arboleas, Almeria, where he resided for 15 years before relocating to Manilva in 2021. The service will be broadcasted live on Facebook, allowing friends and family from across the country and back home to bid their final goodbyes.
Remembering Ray Wyer
Friends and acquaintances have taken to social media to pay their respects to the late Mr Wyer. David Clark, a close friend, described Wyer as a lovely man and a pleasure to be around. He fondly recalled their time spent together, particularly their bike rides and casual coffee chats. Clark described Wyer as a fun, playful, and mischievous individual, whose kind-hearted nature will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
