The footage reveals cars whizzing past the e-scooter, with the rider making an effort to stay as close to the roadside barrier as possible. The daring act of the rider has raised eyebrows, considering the speed and volume of the traffic on the A-7.
Violation of Spanish Law
The incident is a clear violation of Spanish law, which prohibits the use of electric scooters on pavements, pedestrian areas, motorways, and tunnels in urban areas. The law also restricts the speed of e-scooters to a maximum of 25km/h, as per the guidelines of the DGT traffic authority. The rider’s actions, therefore, not only put his own life at risk but also potentially endangered other road users.
