Michelin Stars Shine on Costa del Sol Restaurants

Two restaurants in Costa del Sol have joined the prestigious list of Spanish venues awarded Michelin Stars this year. Marbella’s BACK restaurant has received its first star, while Skina, another Marbella eatery, has been awarded its second. The accolades were announced at the Spanish Michelin Guide Gala 2024, held in Barcelona.

Costa del Sol: A Culinary Hotspot

The Michelin stars awarded to BACK and Skina highlight Costa del Sol’s reputation as a culinary hotspot. Numerous restaurants from across Spain were honored at the gala, with Costa del Sol standing out for its culinary excellence. BACK is lauded for its fine dining experience, which combines an element of fun with creative-contemporary cooking.

BACK and Skina: Celebrating Culinary Excellence

The staff at BACK are celebrating their win, while Skina, despite its small size with only four tables, continues to impress with its sincere cuisine. Skina’s menu puts a new spin on traditional Andalusian recipes. These restaurants join the Costa’s roster of Michelin star venues, which includes Nintai and Messina in Marbella, and Sollo in Fuengirola.

Malaga’s Michelin Star Restaurants

Malaga is also home to two top-quality restaurants, Kaleja and Jose Carlos Garcia, both of which are proud owners of Michelin stars. Some venues, including Noor in Cordoba, have achieved their second and third stars. Noor, led by Paco Morales, is now among Spain’s top 15 eateries.

Andalucia’s Culinary Scene Strengthened

This year’s awards have further enhanced Andalucia’s culinary scene, with five new Michelin star venues. Jaen has gained two new Michelin star restaurants, Radis and Malak. Tohqa in Cadiz and Vandelvira in Baeza have also earned stars.
