Jobseekers who struggle to reach Marbella’s employment offices are among the people a new neighbourhood programme is designed to help. Marbella City Council says its Municipal Employability Plan for 2026–2027 will bring workshops, talks and meetings with companies to Marbella, San Pedro Alcántara, Nueva Andalucía and Las Chapas. The first round is scheduled between September and December.

Help with the practical parts of applying
The sessions cover both presenting an application and navigating the systems behind it.
One workshop will focus on job interviews and selection processes; another on CVs and personal branding. A further session will address online dealings with public authorities and registering for public-sector recruitment. The municipal placement agency’s services form the remaining workshop topic.
Alejandro Freijo, the council’s director general for the area, describes the workshops as practical sessions whose tools participants can use straight away. He also stresses the role of council staff in guiding people through their job search.
Why this matters in Marbella
The programme is aimed at people who may not know what support exists or cannot easily reach it.
Freijo says unfamiliarity with available services and difficulty travelling to the department’s offices are particular reasons for taking support into neighbourhoods. The information sessions are intended for people actively seeking work as well as those wanting to improve their professional situation.
The employer meetings offer a different kind of access: attendees will be able to hear what companies need, learn which skills they are looking for and ask recruitment managers questions about selection processes. These district sessions are part of the council’s stated aim of connecting residents with local businesses.
