Malaga: A Home Away From Home for Over 40,000 Brits
The province of Malaga is not just a tourist destination for the British, but a home to more than 40,000 of them. This number does not even include the numerous homeowners who reside here for part of the year or the new arrivals who are exploring ways to make their stay in Spain more permanent.
British Consular Services: A Helping Hand in Spain
The British consular services in Spain are dedicated to assisting British residents and tourists in need. A significant part of their work involves educating British nationals on how to avoid potential issues during their stay in Spain.
Post-Brexit Changes for British Residents in Spain
The UK’s exit from the EU five years ago brought about changes in the rights and responsibilities of British residents in Spain. SUR in English, in partnership with British consular services and Marbella town hall, aims to address some of the main queries UK nationals in Spain may have through an informative event this Friday in Marbella.
Expert Panel to Address Key Issues
Lucy Gorman, consular regional operations manager for Spain & Andorra, will be travelling from Madrid to the Costa del Sol, along with Malaga vice-consul Miram Pérez. They will discuss a variety of issues affecting established, new, and future British residents in Spain, from residence permits to welfare. They will be joined by a panel of experts to address legal matters and questions related to insurance and taxation, among other topics.
Informative Event: Details and Live Streaming
The information session will be held on Friday, 4 April at 11am at the Palacio de Congresos fair and conference centre in Marbella (Calle José Meliá, 2). The event is free to attend, with doors opening at 10.30am and no prior registration required. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live on www.surinenglish.com.
