Marbella Follows Suit in Early Arrival of the Three Kings
Marbella has decided to join the likes of Teba, Antequera, and Torremolinos in the Malaga province by advancing the arrival of the Three Kings this year. The decision comes in light of the rain forecast for this Sunday. The traditional parade featuring the floats of Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar will now take place a day earlier than usual, on Saturday, January 4th, instead of the traditional date of January 5th.
Mayor Announces Change in Parade Date
The change in date was announced by the town’s mayor, Angeles Muñoz, via social media. She revealed that the decision was made following a meeting and that further details about the parades in Marbella and San Pedro will be announced this Friday. Both towns will also be advancing the arrival of Their Majesties of Orient this year due to the weather forecast.
Mayor’s Statement on the Change
In her social media post, Mayor Muñoz stated, “After conversations throughout the day with Their Majesties The Three Kings of the Orient and seeing the probability of rain on the 5th of January, we have decided to bring forward their arrival to our municipality to celebrate the parades of Marbella and San Pedro on Saturday, January 4th.”
