Over 3,000 Participants in Marbella’s XII ‘Marea Rosa’ Solidarity Walk

The twelfth annual ‘Marea Rosa’ or ‘Pink Wave’ solidarity walk took place in Marbella last Sunday. The event saw more than 3,000 participants, who filled the town’s streets with the color pink, symbolizing the fight against breast cancer. The primary goal of this yearly event is to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasize the importance of early detection, and generate funds for the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz Highlights the Importance of Support

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz, along with other council members, attended the event. She emphasized the importance of the initiative, which aims to show support for those battling breast cancer. She also stressed the significance of early diagnosis and praised the AECC for their exceptional work in providing medical, psychological, and advisory support to patients and their families.

Marbella Councillor Kika Caracuel Reveals Recent Breast Cancer Surgery

On the same day as the solidarity walk, Kika Caracuel, a Marbella councillor and the fourth vice-president of the Diputación provincial authority, revealed that she had recently undergone surgery for breast cancer. The tumor was detected during a routine scan, further highlighting the importance of early diagnosis.

Caracuel Breaks Silence on Personal Health Battle

Caracuel shared her personal health journey on social media last Sunday. Despite her initial hesitation to share her personal life publicly, she felt a sense of responsibility to share her experience. She believes that her story could potentially encourage others to prioritize regular health check-ups and early detection.
