Marbella FC Qualifies for Copa del Rey for Second Consecutive Season
Marbella FC has qualified for the Copa del Rey for the second consecutive season. With three rounds still to go in the league, the team secured their spot as one of the top five in the group, excluding the reserve teams, following their victory over Sevilla Atlético last Sunday. As a result, the knockout competition will return to the city.

Marbella FC has already secured a spot in the next edition of the Copa del Rey, a tournament they will compete in for the second season in a row. With their win over Sevilla Atlético and Balona’s draw, the team is now among the top five in the group, excluding the reserve teams, Sevilla Atlético and Betis Deportivo.
2nd RFEF Contributes 25 Teams to Copa del Rey
The 2nd RFEF contributes 25 teams to the Copa del Rey, five per group. In Group IV, Yeclano and Marbella FC have already secured their spots. Orihuela, Estepona, and Águilas are the other three teams with the most chances at the moment.
Marbella FC’s Performance in the Current Season
This season, Marbella FC competed in the Copa del Rey as the champion of the 3rd RFEF group from the previous season, which also earned them a promotion. The team faced off against Racing de Ferrol from the Second Division in a well-played match at the Antonio Naranjo Stadium in San Pedro Alcántara. The Galician team managed to win the tie in extra time (1-3).
Marbella FC’s Performance in Previous Seasons
In the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, the team managed to face off against a First Division rival, in both cases the same team, Real Valladolid, who eliminated Marbella FC in the second round.
