30-Year-Old Man and Father Face 17 Years in Prison for Alleged Murder
A 30-year-old man is potentially looking at a 17-year prison sentence for allegedly stabbing his mother’s boyfriend to death in Marbella. The prosecution is also seeking the same sentence for the man’s father, who is believed to have been a part of the murder plot.
Accused Had a Strained Relationship with Victim
The accused reportedly had a strained relationship with his mother’s new partner, which led to the couple temporarily relocating to Ojén. They had previously resided in the same building in the Miraflores neighbourhood of Marbella.
Details of the Alleged Murder
On the day of the murder, the woman had visited her partner at his former residence. The accused saw him and left his house armed with a kitchen knife, allegedly with the intent to kill. As the victim was about to exit the building, the father reportedly pushed him, causing him to lose his balance. The son then allegedly stabbed him in the chest at approximately 1.40pm on 15 June 2022.
Victim’s Inability to Defend and Subsequent Death
The prosecution alleges that the victim was unable to defend himself. He managed to stagger about 53 metres before collapsing and dying. He is survived by four siblings.
Prosecution Seeks Compensation for Victim’s Siblings
The public prosecutor’s office is seeking compensation for the victim’s siblings, amounting to 20,000 euros.
